Policies and requirements
The rules, in plain words
This page summarizes the rental agreement you sign at pickup. The signed agreement controls if anything here differs from it.
Who can rent
- Renter and any additional driver must be 21 or older with a valid, unexpired driver's license.
- A credit or debit card in the renter's name for the $250 hold and final charges.
- Current auto insurance on the tow vehicle. We photograph your license and insurance card at pickup.
- Business rentals: company card plus a driver who meets the requirements above.
Tow vehicle requirements
- Manufacturer tow rating at or above the trailer's loaded weight. We may decline a hook-up if the vehicle is clearly underrated for the load you describe.
- 2-5/16 in hitch ball on a mount rated above the trailer's GVWR, in a Class III or higher receiver.
- Working 7-way round connector with functioning running lights, brake lights, turn signals, and brake circuit.
- Electric brake controller, tested at pickup.
- We check all of this before you leave. If something fails we will tell you what to get and hold the reservation while you fix it the same day.
Rental period and returns
- A day is 24 hours from pickup. A weekend is Friday 3 pm to Monday 9 am. A week is seven days.
- One hour grace on return. After that, each additional day is billed at the daily rate.
- Extensions are granted by text when the trailer is not booked behind you. Keeping a trailer past your return time without approval is treated as an unauthorized extension and may be reported.
- Return the trailer swept out, with the tarp rolled and ramps stowed. A $50 cleaning fee applies to debris left in the bed or box.
Deposit and payment
- $250 hold placed on your card at pickup and released the same day the trailer returns clean and undamaged. Holds can take a few business days to drop off your statement depending on your bank.
- Rental charges are billed at pickup. Extensions, cleaning, tire, and damage charges are billed to the same card.
- Rates are before Iowa sales tax.
Damage, loss, and tires
- You are responsible for the trailer from hook-up to return, including damage, theft, and loss, up to the replacement value of the trailer.
- Road-hazard flats and tire damage are charged at cost for repair or replacement. Normal wear is on us.
- Report any damage, accident, or breakdown immediately by phone. Do not attempt repairs beyond changing a tire.
- Your personal or commercial auto policy typically extends liability coverage to a towed trailer. Confirm with your agent before pickup.
Use of the trailer
- Never exceed the GVWR on the trailer's VIN plate or your tow vehicle's rating. Overloading voids the agreement and makes you liable for the resulting damage.
- Iowa and bordering states only unless approved in writing when you book.
- No hazardous materials, fuel containers, or chemicals. No livestock. No people or pets in or on the trailer while moving.
- No sub-renting, lending, or use by drivers not on the agreement.
- Lock the coupler whenever the trailer is unhooked, and park it on private property overnight.
- You are responsible for tolls, citations, and disposal fees incurred during the rental.
Cancellations and weather
- Cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup by text, call, or email.
- Inside 24 hours, one day's rate is charged. Dump trailer rentals cancelled for heavy rain or severe weather are not charged.
- We reserve the right to cancel a rental for unsafe conditions or an unsafe tow vehicle, with a full refund of anything paid.
Privacy
We collect your name, contact details, license and insurance images, and card information only to run the rental. We do not sell or share it. Reservation form submissions are emailed to us and are not stored on this website.
